This summer course is directed to university students, mainly from the US, Canada, and the UK, as well as students from other countries.

To learn about Mexican reality through its society, culture, arts, and customs for two weeks in the summer.

Considering the multiculturalism and diversity of Mexico City, this course will offer experiences that exalt thevalues of our country, highlighting key issues such as its history, its gastronomy, and its architecture.

The course will combine theoretical issues with visits to museums and sites of interest.

Week 1         Day 1 The foundation of Mexico as an independent nation

                    Day 2 The development of the Mexican modern state

                    Day 3 The Mexican Miracle

                    Day 4 From stability to social unrest

 

Week 2         Day 1 The 80s and its crises

                    Day 2 The construction of global Mexico

                    Day 3 The threat to the modernizing dream

                    Day 4 21st century Mexico

                    Anthropological Museum

                    Memory and Tolerance Museum

                    Lucha Libre (Wrestling Arena)

                    Chapultepec Castle

                    UNAM’s Contemporary Art Museum

                    Frida Kahlo Museum
